The Brandfort police arrested a 34-year-old man for the alleged fatal assault of his 38-year-old girlfriend, yesterday (6/4).

Police arrived at the scene during the early morning hours and discovered the lifeless victim in a bedroom in Nonzamo Park.

“The victim sustained severe injuries on the upper arm and face,” stated police spokesperson Sergeant Palesa Thabana. “It is alleged that the suspect hit the victim repeatedly with a wooden stick following accusations of infidelity. The 38-year-old victim was declared dead on the scene.

According to the spokesperson, the 34-year-old male suspect was then arrested for murder. He is set to appear in the Brandfort Magistrate’s Court today (7/4).
