The 36-year-old Australia National Cricket Team left-handed opening batsman David Warner played an excellent knock in the second ODI of the five-match series against South Africa National Cricket Team on Saturday, September 9 at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
David Warner was heading into the South Africa ODIs following a decent run in the Ashes 2023 series. In the first game, he was cleaned up by Marco Jansen for a 2-ball duck. However, he made sure to bounce back strong in the second game and he played a stunning knock.
Warner alongside Travis Head provided Australia with a flying start in the match and together they completed the 100-run partnership in just 9.5 overs. After Travis Head, who scored a sensational 64 runs off 36 balls, got out Warner stitched together 151 runs in 124 balls with Marnus Labuschagne.
Together they batted with a positive intent and gave a hard time to the Proteas bowling unit. Warner completed his marvelous ton in the 30th over, which was bowled by left-arm wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi. On the 5th delivery of the over, Warner played a pull shot for a four to reach the three-figure mark off 85 balls and brought out his trademark celebration.

The veteran southpaw was dismissed by Andile Phehlukwayo in the 33rd over. He scored 106 runs off 93 balls, with 12 fours and 3 sixes.

As Warner played a stellar knock, he completed 46 centuries in international cricket. He surpassed batting great Sachin Tendulkar for most tons by an opener in international cricket.
